using bug on ice and snow race?

Sorry mates, I don't speak finnish but I would like to make 1 thread here to get some help. Im your neighbour from estonia. I have a bug with stock engine but I added some turbo with 30PSI of boost on best days :) It last quite little time but when it rides it breaks gearboxes and makes 13s on quarter.

 

Now I decided to use type4 engine on it with 091 gearbox with bigger turbo and my old type1 engine and few stock gearboxes are waiting in my garage corner for better times.

 

I drive ice and snow tracks with bmw and yesterday when I was beated of 2 toyota mr2 I thaught why I cant use my engine and other stock parts in some another body on ice and snow.

 

what would be the MUST HAVE mods for that? I think IRS is the first thing ? what else? what should be made for being as fast as bmw325?

Why "IRS"?Hunreds off VW:s and Porsches where rased on ice and snow races and rallyes before the "IRS" was introdused and with good succeed.

Moust famous in Finnland were 1500 S type 3s.

Maybe because IRS is better? Why did Porsche upgrade to IRS when designing the 911? Didn't Wihuri also change from typ3:s to 1302 as soon as it arrived? Nowadays 1302 and 1303 seem to be quiker than (heavy?) Typ3.

1302S and 1500S runs (nowadays, too) with totally different regulations, that is one of the things why they are so much quicker. Weight matters too, of course ...
